Why so many deductible options?
The deductible is a fixed amount the insured must pay out-of-pocket each policy year before the insurer reimburses anything. The insurer only pays the portion above the deductible. A single VHIS-certified plan can offer multiple deductible levels — a higher deductible means a lower premium; a lower deductible means faster payouts but a higher premium. Which level fits depends on your cash buffer, any MPF/employer medical top-up, and whether you intend to stay in a private or semi-private ward.
